Frequently asked questions
Answers about CourtsidePlay scoring, Apple Watch analytics, subscriptions, privacy and match sharing.
Which sports can I track?
Tennis, padel, beach tennis and badminton. Choose your sport before starting a match so scoring and shot labels match the activity.
Do I need an account or subscription?
CourtsidePlay does not require registration or a subscription. See the App Store for the current download price in your region.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
You can configure and review matches on iPhone. Scoring from your wrist and Watch sensor analytics require an Apple Watch. See device compatibility before installing.
How accurate are shot and spin analytics?
Shot classification and spin estimates come from wrist motion, rather than direct measurements of the ball. Use them to explore patterns; they can vary with technique and sensor readings. Calibrate your shots to help the app recognise your motion.
Can I keep the match on my Watch and sync later?
Manual sync lets you keep a scored match on your Watch and send it to your iPhone with one tap, including a finished match. Auto sync streams points as you play. See the sync guide.
Does every feature work without internet?
Match records and sensor analysis are kept on your devices. Features that fetch external information, such as WeatherKit forecasts, need connectivity to obtain fresh data. Nearby match sharing also requires both phones to be available. See the privacy policy for data handling.
How do I share a match with my opponent?
After a match is completed or retired, choose “Share this match by QR”. The other player opens the same finished match and scans while both phones are nearby. Health information is included only when you enable it. Follow the sharing instructions.
Where can I get help?
